Enjoying F1 Monaco

If you plan to visit Monaco to view the F1 Monaco you will be joining thousands of people who travel from all over the world to visit Monaco for the F1 Monaco which takes place in 2011 from Thursday 26 may through the actual Grand Prix on Sunday 29 May. This is a glittering event which attracts world wide attention. If you have never visited Monaco before it is located in the French Riviera. This is an area that delights in sunshine for approximately 300 days a year.

Monaco enjoys 2.5 miles of lovely coastline in an area of mostly warm temperatures. Monaco basically was taken over in the year 1297 and its Coat of Arms depicts two monks engaged in sword play. It revels in those glorious sea views over the Mediterranean Sea. In 1863 Prince Charles III established Societe des Bains de Mer or literally company of baths of sea, with several hotels, a glorious casino and theatres which became Monte-Carlo which was created in 1866. Several of the hotels that were established at that time in Monte-Carlo are still operating as luxurious hotels.

If you plan to visit during the time of the Monaco Grand Prix you will encounter a lot of people all intent on enjoying a day at the races. There are several areas of interest besides the F1 Monaco. You can take day trips outside of Monaco such as to Cannes or St Tropez, perhaps Nice or even further afield to Grimaud or Marseille. If you are only attending the races and the practice sessions then you will not have the time to travel very far outside of Monaco but you certainly can enjoy the several diverse areas within the Principality de Monaco such as the old fortified town or the newest area which was literally recovered from the sea called Fontvieille which is a manmade water front. You can also visit many museums and churches located in Monaco. And of course you cant go to Monte-Carlo without a stop at the casino.

If you go to attend this event you will need to get your reservations as soon as possible as it is a very popular tourist destination. The Monaco Grand Prix is one of the premier race tracks located along city streets. It is an exciting race with a race track that includes a tunnel, many tight turns and narrow track with a variety of elevations actually on the course itself. The street course in Monte-Carlo includes La Condamine which includes the harbor. Monaco sits as a jewel on the Mediterranean Sea which in itself is a lovely area to spend some time. Of course there is shopping in Cannes and Nice and St Tropez all within a short train ride or helicopter trip from Monaco.
