Enhance Your Pool Area With An Aluminum Pool Fence

A pool fence is not just for beautifying your pool area. Its primary use is to make your pool safe and secure, especially if you have young children or family pets. Tragedies can be avoided when we are able to ensure that young children cannot get into to pool when there is no adult present to supervise.

Pool fencing comes in different materials - vinyl, resin, and aluminum. We, however, recommend the use of an aluminum pool fence as vinyl or resin based fencing does not look all that attractive. An aluminum pool fence gives your pool an enhanced look as it brings the feel and style of wrought iron. You can have intricately designed pool fencing even as you enjoy the functionality of a safe and secure pool area.

As the pool is invariably a play area, expect a lot of abuse to be inflicted on your pool fence, in addition to everyday wear and tear. A pool fence made of aluminum is of course stronger than a pool fence made of wood or resin. Aluminum is able to withstand the stress and strain without losing its great looking appearance for many years. Depending on how strong you need your fence to be, you can choose from varying strengths. In fact, aluminum fences come in industrial and residential strength grades.

Aluminum is an adaptable and durable material and is able to offer you both elegance and functionality. You can opt to use powder coated aluminum fencing material. This is excellent in enhancing your pool's appearance because you can match the fencing color with the pool surroundings. A powder coated fence is also less susceptible to rust and is able to keep its appearance regardless of the weather and normal wear and tear.

An aluminum pool fence can be easily installed. No professional fence-building skills are necessary. You can install it by yourself - all you need are the most basic handyman skills. You can even manage with the oval shapes and odd angles in some of the fencing materials. There are also many self-install fencing materials available through pool suppliers.

You can find modular forms of aluminum fences. This way you only get to buy the modules or components you will actually need. Other materials you need include a screw gun with Phillip head attachments, a pair of pliers, a rubber mallet, tin snips, level, hacksaw, a hand digger, string line and tape measure. You can do the project on your own but we recommended that you get a partner to help you finish the work.

In the case where you have sloping ground, you can "rake" the fence to install the aluminum pool fencing. All you need is to measure the area and the gradient, and your supplier will determine where to put the fence railing holes in the fence posts. "Raking" the fence will help you slope it. It will also prevent family pets from squeezing through gaps between the ground and the fence, as sloping will keep the space clearing the ground uniformly small. You can also step the fencing as you would vinyl panels on a steep slope.

An aluminum pool fence will give you lasting satisfaction for years to come with very little maintenance. Ensuring that you keep your pool safe and secure does not mean you must sacrifice elegance and beauty. Remember though that there is no substitute for adult supervision when children are using the pool or are in the pool area.
