Plastic Outdoor Furniture Painting Made Easy

In the past worn plastic outdoor furniture was thrown in the trash, no longer wanted since it had lost it's luster. It doesn't have to be that way any longer. You can hold on to your old plastic outdoor furniture by giving it life again just by painting. Painting your outdoor furniture has become easier just by using a spray paint especially designed for plastic products. You can add new life and creativity to your old plastic outdoor furniture.

Items Needed to Paint Plastic Outdoor Furniture

You will need a respirator, newspapers, a can of spray paint designed for plastic products, and a well ventilated area for painting the furniture. If you are not painting the original color by two cans of paint to make sure you have enough products for your project of painting outdoor furniture. Choose colors to complement you house or landscape.

Let's Get Started
The respirator is needed when using the spray paint to prevent you from inhaling the fumes from the paint. So first take the time to prepare the respirator and make sure you use it when spray painting.

Next prepare the surface of the items you are going to paint. By cleaning and drying the surface of the outdoor furniture well you will ensure the paint will easily bond with the plastic outdoor furniture.

Spread newspaper in the area you are painting to protect the floor of the well ventilated area you have chosen. Since you are using a spray paint you want to make sure you don't paint the floor surface while painting the plastic outdoor furniture.

After placing the plastic outdoor furniture on the newspaper it is now time to paint. Spray the paint slowly and evenly on the plastic outdoor furniture until you have covered all of the furniture. Beware of spraying the paint too fast or on too heavy since it can cause the paint on the plastic outdoor furniture to run and drip ruining your all your efforts and making a mess.

Reminder:

If you decide to color the plastic outdoor furniture a color other than the original color you will need to apply more than one coat of paint. Before applying each coat of paint to the plastic outdoor furniture you need to allow the previous coat to dry thoroughly. Allow at least 15 minutes before applying the next coat of paint to the outdoor furniture. For the best results from painting your plastic outdoor furniture you need to allow it to dry overnight before use.

You can save money by painting your plastic outdoor furniture and extend the life of the furniture. Be creative when painting plastic outdoor furniture to provide a unique easy way to decorate your yard.
