Emergency Equipment Saves Lives And Prepares People For Potential Drastic Situations

Emergency equipment varies from the need for bandages and topical antibiotics to crash carts and IV supplies. Emergency equipment is needed to save lives every day and without it many lives could be lost. Through taking CPR training a person is taught how and when to properly use emergency equipment, along with the steps needed to keep the person breathing and their heart beating until emergency personnel is able to take over.

Ambulances are stocked with all types of equipment that the paramedics use to try to stabilize a person, keep a person alive when the situation is drastic, all while safely transporting the person to the closest emergency facility available. In the emergency room there is more equipment to be found. Crash carts, respirators, syringes, IV tubing, and sutures are just some of the equipment that can be found throughout an emergency room.

Although when most people think of emergency equipment they think about emergency rooms and extreme situations, however having some types equipment at home is beneficial as well. A first aid kit for the home can be proved to be needed in some situations. For instance in times of an unexpected natural disaster, a first aid kit filled with: flash lights, candles, matches, bandages, gauze, butterfly stitches, various ointments, ace bandages for possible sprains or strains, and even food rations or protein bars would be found highly useful. Overall being prepared at home with emergency first aid kits could increase the possible outcome of survival, depending on the situation and how well prepared the emergency kit actually is.

Emergency equipment is also highly useful to situations when it is kept in cars, trucks, recreational vehicles, and even boats. When a car accident happens many different injuries could be accrued by the driver, the passengers, or even possibly bystanders. There are also situations where people can become stranded in their cars due to extreme weather conditions. Therefore having equipment handy in the car might help to keep people stable until an emergency team arrives on the scene. As for RV's and boats, emergency kits are needed because the people using the recreational equipment are typically farther away from help than those just driving along the street. Things like: scissors to cut the seat belts if a person is trapped, blankets to keep warm if the person is stranded, bee sting kits, tools to repair a flat tire, jumper cables, floatation devices, gauze, bandages, ointments, and non-perishable food are just some of the things that can be found useful.
