The full-year 2010 edition of EMEA Deal Drivers, provides an extensive review of European M&A activity, offering a detailed analysis of specific sectors and regions and identifying emerging trends in deal flow for the upcoming year. The M&A market grew considerably from 2009 to 2010. During this period deal volume increased 26.6% from 3,685 to 4,665, while value jumped 50.4% from 327.6bn to 492.6bn. Looking more closely at quarterly figures, it should be noted that the number of deals exceeded 1,000 in every quarter of 2010 deal volume had been stuck below this mark throughout the first three quarters of the previous year. Additionally, transactions in the 501m-plus range increased by approximately 74% against 2009.
