Email Marketing - How To Build A List Of Hungry Subscribers And Profit From It

By:

The money is in the list is a well known saying amongst internet marketers. This maxim has never been more true than today, with thousands more people accessing the net every day and using email as their main form of communicating with other people. People also like to receive information by email on topics that interest them, and to have products brought to their attention that could help them achieve their goals or solve their problems. Our task as email marketers is to find a hot niche that is full of potential subscribers, hungry for the information and products that we can present to them. If you do this right, your subscribers will keep coming back to buy more and more products from you.
The simplest and most effective way of finding out how many people are interested in a specific niche is to use the Overture Keyword Selector Tool. It is freely available at http://inventory.overture.com. Another tool to use is Good Keywords, which is at www.GoodKeywords.com. It is a great free tool that allows you to search through Overture scores for many different countries and search engines. Once you have identified a hot niche, join as many forums as possible for that niche or sub-niche. Then take note of the most popular topics of interest, what are the most common questions members are asking, and what are the goals people talk about. This will give you ideas for content in your email campaign. Check that there are products that you can sell them. Create a signature for your postings, with a link to a squeeze page offering them a free report in return for opting in to your email list.
You will need to send relevant and good quality content to your list at least once a week, preferably on the same day so that they are more likely to open your email. Your articles should be full of information, but also light and sometimes even humorous. Adding the personal touch will make your subscribers connect with you as a real person. If you do not like writing articles from scratch, you can either modify existing PLR articles or outsource to a freelance writer at say www.elance.com. Do not start promoting products to your list until you have built up their trust and confidence in you as a person, not just a salesman trying to sell them something. Focus on giving them information and maybe some free reports for two or three months, before you hit them with your first product promotion. You could even create an ebook and give it to them for free. Write about anything informational and helpful to your subscribers.
You could offer this ebook to other sites, but make sure they do not change the links that will lead people to your websites. Another promotional idea is to add e-coupons in your newsletter, so that subscribers can avail of special discounts. They will be eager to receive your newsletter, in anticipation of what you are promoting next. Using all these and other forms of promotion, not only will you retain your subscribers but you will receive many referrals and grow your list accordingly.
