Are you an Elvis freak? Do you feel caught in a trap out of which you can't walk out? A trap of searching for all things Elvis? You are not alone. Some people will have suspicious minds about your addiction to Elvis memorabilia, but others will empathize. And by those others, I mean the millions of Elvis collectors all over the globe. For years anything remotely to do with Elvis has been hugely popular. Today, Elvis collectibles are just as popular as they ever were.

The gamut of memorabilia runs from the kooky to the esoteric to the sublimely expensive. During a 2009 auction of some of Presley's personal possessions, the blue jumpsuit and cape with gold lining that Elvis wore during a 1972 performance at Madison Square Garden fetched more than $210,000. A 14KT gold and diamond ring depicting an owl's face was sold for $40,000.

Of course not every piece of memorabilia will be so pricey. Regular checking in at online auction sites as well as retail shops that allow the public to sell their stuff could score you a good deal. Yard sales and garage sales, flea markets, even your own attic could turn up something of value to you.

Authentic autographs and records are two of the more popular pieces of memorabilia. A genuine Elvis signature on an album sleeve, poster, magazine, etc. Can be quite valuable and are usually only found up for auction. Because Presley made so many recordings, the possibilities for collecting albums and 45s are virtually endless. Some people prefer displaying their records rather than actually playing them.

For those wishing to cuddle up and stay warm with Elvis, especially during a cold Kentucky rain, there is no need to worry. A proliferation of blankets, throws, quilts, and bedding with the King's image emblazoned on the cloth is available. They come in all sizes and colors, not to mention an optional storage tin. And let's not forget those Elvis pillows. You will be the toast of the airplane when your fellow airline passengers see you pull out your Elvis neck pillow.

And all generations have Elvis Presley fans. Perhaps your children are some from the newest generation. If so, they would probably love the Elvis lunchbox, like the pink Love Me Tender lunch box complete with matching thermos. Once the homework is done, the family can all enjoy a game of Elvisopoly.

If you feel as though you are missing something in your collection but cannot figure out what it is, start thinking about some less traditional stuff. How about an Elvis clock? A simple alarm clock featuring the one and only on the face might do the trick. Or for something more sophisticated, try the pendulum clock with the pendulums being Elvis' legs. A cute addition to any room is an Elvis figurine that attaches to a ceiling fan pull cord. One tug and suddenly your room is as cool as the King.

There is nothing wrong with a healthy desire for an Elvis collection. I say give me a little less conversation and go out and get yourself some nice pieces to add to what you already have. Elvis Presley was and is a musical icon who will continue to be loved for years to come.
