Andy G whose full name reads Andrew Jonas Gnsberg is a world famous TV and radio presenter from Australia. Known best for hosting Australian Idol, a musical reality show, Andy G has also compeered Network Ten's game show The Con Test in the past. He currently hosts Network Ten's live New Year's Eve telecast.
Andy G was born in London, England on 29 March 1974. His father Michael Gnsberg was of a Czech-Jew descent while his mother Biruti was a Lithuanian woman. His family moved to Adelaide when he was only four months old. Later on, his family shifted to Brisbane where he spent most of his youth and attended St. Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace. Gnsberg developed an ardent passion for music from a young age. He would play in school orchestras, and perform in barbershop quartets and school musicals.
Andrew began to perform as a roadie after leaving school. In 1994, he joined a band called Feebles Junky and began to perform across the Brisbane. He also played double bass for Resin Dogs- one of the most popular bands in Australia.
Gnsberg began his career in radio with a Brisbane based radio station called B 105. He was only 20 then. Later he joined SAFM and it was there that he earned the nickname Andrew G.
In 1999, Andrew shot a short video of his nationwide tour and sent it to channel V which earned him a job of a host in the same channel.
Andrew worked with Channel V for seven years. He hosted various live shows there including By Demand' which was channels flagship request show. He also got a chance to host an evening live variety show during the Sydney Olympics of 2000 called Rings of Fire.

Andrew G left V In 2003 and joined Network Ten where he became co-host of Australian Idol. The role earned him nomination for the Silver Logie in 2004.
