Electrical Supplies Powering Our Lives

By:

When it comes to thinking about electrical supplies where do you start? Literally everything around us in the world today is in some form or another powered by electric. Starting from an average day, you probably lay in bed and the heating in the house kicks in which could be electric or gas, if it is gas there still is some electrical involvement with the timer, then your alarm clock wakes you up, maybe your television or radio goes on, maybe you have a coffee maid or even if you boil the kettle, all these electrical supplies make our lives so much simpler than they would be without electricity.

So then you might get up, say you feel like having toast, you could grill the bread under the grill or you could toast it in a toaster. Then you might head to work. Depending on what form of transport you decide to take there will be varying levels of electricity used. If you use the train then there will be quite a lot of electricity used, but even cars and motorcycles use electricity. Should we worry about the amount of electricity that we are using on all these electrical supplies and should we be worried about the fact that we might have to find an alternative form of powering this one day?

Electrical companies are starting to look at alternative ways of generating their power for these electrical supplies in the future, but it all seems like it has come along a touch too late, investing in these new technologies takes a lot of money and effort, and while these electrical companies have been creaming off the benefits of their rewards for years, now the credit crunch has hit they are reluctant to push that investment back into the industry. So guess who gets to pay for all these new technologies? That's right, it is you and me who pay the bills, which doesn't really seem fair when at other points in the past, these electrical companies have been making profits of 400 pounds million pounds. That's not total, that's profit.

With an election looming it is time that people started to talk about the subjects that are important and close to their hearts. If enough people got up and commented that they wouldn't pay the increase in cost for fuel and electricity to power their electrical supplies then the government and the electrical companies would have to make changes. If we keep allowing them to get away with it then they will.
