The recent several heavy rains let our life more inconvenient. Fortunately, it is sunny day in the weekend, so I went to the park with my family. But I found that the
electric golf carts which had been used to carry visitors bring to rest, and the visitors just went on foot to the mountain.
Then I consulted to the park's management office, and I realized that it is all because of the heavy rain. The staffs didn't park these golf carts indoor when it is raining, so that the carts were caught in the rain outdoor. Now they went out on strike, and the management was contacting the manufacturer to fix them.
The management officer said, "Maybe because we don't put the golf carts in the garage and then they are caught in the rain, they don't have any power so that they are out of service."
At this moment, the serviceman arrived here, and after hearing the officer, he said, "it might be the water of controller." Then he opened the controller of electric golf carts and as expected it was the controller into the water. After he deal with the water of controller and started the cart again, the electric golf cart can run normally.
Finally the serviceman told me and the management that the reason why electric golf carts or other electric vehicles could be suddenly out of service is mostly the controller into the water, then cause the short circuit. It was certainly normal in the rainy day, because when the cart was running, the tire moved with some water. In general, the controller near the tire is not sealed, so the water will enter into the controller, and then cause the short circuit which is the source of the golf carts stopping work. However some controllers were underneath the cart, close to the ground. When the golf carts went through the puddle, they were always immersed in the water and it caused the water entering into the controller which also leaded to short-circuit.
When this happens to you, if the water is a little, you just turn off the power and park the golf cart in the dry place. After the water is drained from the controller, the cart can run normally. But if there is lots of water in the controller, the cart might need to be repaired.
