Einstein Born In Germany - The Wunder-kid Experiences The Mystery Of A Compass - Chapter 1

By:

Most mothers today buy DVDs and toys to make their precious child into another Einstein. However, the real Baby Einstein had parents who strongly interacted with him and encouraged his education and artistic endeavors. The legendary scientist Albert Einstein was born March 14, 1879 in Ulm in the southwestern part of Germany.

His early mental capacities were rumored to be less than stellar but young Albert would overcome these weaknesses. He employed the tactic of using visual cues that helped him grasp the main points of a complex argument or proposition. Using this form of technique, he was able to break down a problem into examples that would be thereby simpler to resolve. It is this mechanism that would years later help him to propagandize various concepts of Relativity Theory. In this time frame, Albert attended a Catholic elementary school; there he achieved what his parents expected of him.

Assisting young Albert in all of these early challenges were his devoted parents Hermann and Pauline. The two of them were non-observant Jews who enjoyed the German life and culture of the era; they along with other relatives would encourage the young Einstein to pursue many educational endeavors in his youth. Unfortunately, the family had to move to Munich as a result of the collapse of Hermann's business (1880); there they were able through the affectionate help of Hermann's older brother Jakob to overcome the temporary financial setback. A year later (1881) a sister would be born to accompany the now toddler Einstein. Maria or Maja would become Einstein's confident and best friend to whom he would turn throughout his life.

Along with Maja, Einstein grew up enjoying the robust companionship of his other young relatives through routine extended family get-togethers. However, because of his ability to visualize complex problems that had been developed at an early age as a result of his impairments, young Einstein would tend to isolate himself from the group for the sake of contemplating difficult ideas and concepts. It is in one of these moments of isolation that most struck him and hyper-sensitized the future scientist to the mysterious workings of nature. His father presented the most intriguing present for the mind of a wandering thinker. A compass! The needle within could move about and seemed to respond to unknown powers that were invisible to the eye. How could such a thing be really happening?

Fields and waves would forever be on the mind of young Einstein because of this most mundane present. The influence of the compass led him to pursue the mathematics behind these ideas. Much later in life, Dr. Albert Einstein vigorously searched for a theory that would encompass all things; however, the discovery of such a set of equations was not to be for him or for many others like him who attempted to plumb the depths of reality. Despite this setback much later in life, the young budding scientist had been moved by the compass to further his education. His mother gifted Albert with a musical instrument to calm the soul of a hard working thinker. Most would not consider this particular one a gift. Either way, it helped him muse over the meaning of reality for quite some time. Baby Einstein would learn to play the violin!
