Eighteen Ways In Which You Can Improve Your Email Effectivenessby Robert Carter
Are you tired of being bombarded with emails from friends, colleagues, family members and other acquaintances, sometimes more than a hundred every single day. People just don't know how to write emails effectively. They tend to waffle on about all sorts of things without ever getting to the point. Wouldn't it be great if we started a campaign to address this and help everybody to save time through more effective emailing?
1. The Burning Issue
Badly thought out and written email wastes the time of the author and the intended reader and in these days of abundance, time is incredibly valuable.
Studies show that we waste approximately 15 days every year processing and writing inefficient and ineffective emails. That's almost an hour a day.
Would you be able to keep your New Years Resolutions with an extra hour a day?
Imagine if we can get a million people to be more effective and efficient, we could save 15 million days of wasted effort every year.
Imagine what you can personally do with 15 days extra. With an additional hour each day. What could you achive? How many New Years Resolutions could you keep?
For example, if you work for a company that has 100 people who regularly use email. If you can save 15 days a year for each of them, that's 1500 days saved. If the average daily rate for each of these people is $200, that's $300,000 saved to spend on more important issues. What if the average daily rate is $1000 - that's a staggering $1.5million in savings.

2. What Can We Do?
We can learn and live by the eighteen guidelines in the Free E-Book 'How to Make the Most with Email'.
It is an easy, fun, read that you can complete over a cup of coffee. The ideas are so simple, so common sense that you wonder why they aren't already universally applied.
Better yet, not only will you become more effective with your emailing, you can share the guide with everybody you know, helping them become more effective too. That way, you won't only save time composing emails, but you will save time processeing received emails as well. And remember the old saying, time=money.
3. What About An Example?
Rule 3 is called 'The Never Hit Reply All Rule'. Here it is:
"This is so important. Hitting reply all is spam. There is never a case when everybody on an invite list needs to know that you can't make the social tonight because you have to feed little Johnny's rabbit. Letting everybody on an email cc list know your thoughts on a question raised by the originator is narcissistic. If you are so smart, everybody will already know that, and if you're not, you just proved it.
Again, take a look at your messages sent folder. How many messages did you reply to all when only the originator needed to know?
Let's keep those flying electrons under control."

So there you have it. By following the simple guidelines in 'How To Make the Most with Email' we will all be able to keep our emails to the point and hopefully save millions of wasted hours every year. But don't be selfish, share this with everybody you know, and get them to share too.
