Eight Easy Methods To Make Your Own Envelopes

Homemade greeting cards are becoming a popular approach to show relatives, friends and your family that you don't forget them. The great thing about presenting customized cards is that you can personalize them to the last details. But once you are done developing your own greeting card, where do you get a matching envelope for it? It is simple to create personalized vinyl envelopes to fit your customized greeting cards by following these basicmethods:

Prepare all the things you'll need

To make personalized envelopes for your greeting cards or other letters, you'll need cardstock, wrapping papers, any adornments that you need, a pencil, ruler, glue stick and a pair of scissors.

Look for an old envelope which you can utilize as a guide

To start with the project you need to find an old envelope that you can use as a guide for folding. It must be similar size like the envelope you want to develop.

Cut the cardstock

Get the cardstock and lay it on the worktop. Place the old envelope which you found on top of it and trace the sides to the cardstock by using a pencil. You may utilize a ruler to make sure that you draw straight lines. When you're done, cut through the lines you traced. You will now have a piece of cardstock which is the same size like the old envelope. Set aside this specific cardstock item that you have cut as you will use it later on as a folding guide.

Create the template for the envelope

Tear envelope apart through peeling the glued joints away from each other. Be sure to do this with care so you do not tear or crumple the envelope. As soon as it has been fully separated, put it flat above another piece of cardstock. You must find the edges again using the pencil. Ensure that you also use the ruler in case there are uneven edges on the envelope. Carefully cut the format.

Cut out an envelope from the wrapping paper

Place the template you have cut onto the wrapping paper. Use the pencil to trace around the edges. Cut out the envelope design carefully from the wrapping paper by following the lines you have traced.

Start folding

Before you begin folding the envelope, lay down the folding guide in the center of the envelope. Crease and begin folding the side ends of the envelope first. And then fold the bottom flap to the center.

Now glue the flaps

Use the glue to connect the flaps. First apply it on the edge of the base flap and connect it to the side flaps. Be cautious not to smear any glue to the internal section of the envelope. Allow the envelope dry.

Include concluding touches

If you want, you may personalize your own envelope to provide a distinctive touch and match it to your greeting card. Pick embellishments like stickers, beads, sequins that balance the style and colors of the card and apply them carefully.

You can now slip the greeting card or correspondence into your custom-made envelope and mail it.
