Internet marketers are known for their ingenuity, cleverness and skill for niche research. The internet offers many conduits and avenues for finding fresh and not-so-fresh ideas for new products and other online content. We'll cover the basic guidelines for niche research and for finding new topics to write about.

First, the most important thing is to find what kind of questions are people asking in a specific niche. This can be easily researched by visiting related forums and doing a search through the threads and topics. It's amazing what kind of stuff you can dig up on a medium-sized niche forum; people search for answers to their most vital questions and you get fresh ideas for content. Another great place where you can see what kind of questions are people asking is Yahoo Answers, probably the biggest question-answer site online. It literally has millions of questions that are a virtual goldmine of information.

Second, once you have found what the most burning questions in a niche are, now it's time to do some research on the best possible answers. Like the questions part, this can be collected from forums and Yahoo Answers, but sometimes questions are left unanswered, so it's time to dig a little bit in Google or on sites like ArticleBase and EzineArticles. They contain great amounts of valuable info and are definitely useful in niche research.

Third, you can choose to take some general keywords from your niche and enter the into the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. This tool will give you a list of related keywords and their search volume. This is very juicy information and this alone can be the cornerstone of your niche research if you wish to go no further. However, if you decide to dig a little deeper, you can also check out Google Trends and Google Insights to see what are the highest search and most rising keywords in your niche right now.

Niche research can be very fun when you know what you are doing and it can be quite easy to do if you use the proper tools and sites. The sites and services mentioned in this article have proven to be a valuable resource for niche research and have been responsible for many successful niche site launches for the author and many of his associates. use them in whatever order you wish and see with which of the sites you are most comfortable with. Remember, niche research is the moist important part of site development.
