Eco Friendly Products And The Outsourcing Bill For Offshore Call Centers

By:

Eco friendly products should be put into use in the countless offshore based call centers. In a bid to dissuade companies from outsourcing American careers, Senator Charles E. Schumer has introduced a bill which has asked for the wrath of U.S. established companies which have contact facilities overseas.

The bill aims to enforce a per-call excise tax to the tune of $.25 for companies which decide to shift domestic customer support telephone calls to call centers located on foreign shores. As a result, the bill would impose strict costs on businesses that outsource customer support functions to offshore suppliers.

By doing so, Schumer hopes to retain American jobs at call centers across the nation as well as restore the jobs that have been sent abroad to foreign call centers.

Call center providers have openly belittled the bill. Hit Rate Solutions, a U.S based outsourcing company with contact centers in the Philippines, was the most recent to denounce the bill and the implications it took, and said that it was a clear attempt for protectionism.

Operations Director Adam Shore had been extremely critical and indicated how the suggested law demonstrated a basic lack of knowledge of the outsourcing industry and business operations on the whole.

Schumer's bill could levy a $.25 for each call tax on businesses switching calls to an offshore call center, and would additionally demand the company to inform the customer of the position of the actual contact facility handling the phone call.

Retaliating, Operations Director Adam Shore thinks that the taxes will be exorbitant, and also the effect might be tremendous. He faulted Schumer for staying unable to understand the utter volume of phone calls placed to customer support sections.

Continuing on the same line, Shore added that Hit Rate Solutions served businesses of just about all sizes from large corporations to business owners and sole proprietors. Schumer seemed to be under the misconception that the only companies using offshore call centers are big corporations with deep wallets, which was just not the case.

Opposite to Schumer's apparent perception, Shore said that Hit Rate Solutions' mission was to create a means for companies small and large to cut costs and increase production, and most of its business had come not from companies seeking to take the place of existing employees, but business enthusiastic about trying new methods to broaden their services.

The company specializes in telemarketing, customer support, data entry, and virtual assistant outsourcing. Most of the company's customers are not used to outsourcing and are in the start-up stage of their companies.

Reiterating his belief that the law is misguided, Shore said that the aim of the bill going through Congress had been to produce a disincentive to the hiring of offshore employees, but for the majority of Hit Rate Solution's clients, the alternative to hiring offshore wasn't to employ at all. The purpose of the bill for that reason would be regarded to have already been defeated.
