Ebook Writing - Please Don't Write An Ebook In 24 Hours Or Less

By:

I know that when you choose to write an ebook, you are excited and ready to get your product up for sale. We all are! There's no better feeling than to have something we've created proudly displayed online with a "Buy Now" button posted beneath it. We want it immediately available for consumers to devour and buy more of our stuff! I truly understand this, but sometimes slow and steady wins the race - it's good to take your time to come out ahead. In this article I want to discuss some of the reasons you shouldn't rush to write your ebook in 24 hours or less.

You Sacrifice Quality

When you rush, the quality of your product will suffer. When someone buys your ebook, they are expecting it to be perfect because they have spent their hard earned money on it. If your ebook is plagued with spelling and grammatical errors because you haven't had a chance to proofread it thoroughly, this can turn into a loss of credibility for you.

You need to make extra time to read, then re-read, then re-read your ebook again. Then you need to have another person read it for you. Even after all that, you will probably still have spelling or grammatical errors. Don't forget, once written, your ebook with your name it will be around forever and so will those spelling and grammatical errors!

You Sacrifice Content

When you rush, your content will suffer. When you want to finish writing in a hurry, you will definitely start cutting corners on content and explanation. Part of the reason you are writing an ebook is to teach or inform your reader. There may be cases where you need to provide a deeper explanation or more details on a topic you're discussing. If you cut corners, that won't happen.

You also want your ebook to be written as clear and concise as possible. If your content is too sparse it will not be of any value to your customer; if it's to wordy it will just be confusing. Editing takes a decent amount of time in addition to proofreading for errors.

You Sacrifice Creativity

When you rush, your creativity will suffer. If you rush to complete an ebook in a few hours, you will limit the amount of time you have for finding or creating the perfect photos or images to enhance your text. This "eye candy" is used to engage those readers who might easily lose interest if your ebook contains only text. It's also used to graphically explain confusing topics and to help organize your content. If your ebook lacks visual stimulation can be labeled as "boring" and I'm sure you don't want that!
