Before, people did many of their house-hold chores themselves. They traveled long distances on foot and played door games. Many of their daily and social activities needed physical fitness.

Growth of technology has changed our lives completely. Now days, at home or at the work place technology is controlling our lives. We start our day in the comfort of our living rooms, in front of the television screen. At work place, people are glued to their chair as they are working on computers. Even at home all the laborious work is done with the help of machines, lowering the effort put in to a large extent. Less effort means less exercise; less exercise leads to weight gain and lack of fitness.

Children now a days love to spend most of their free time watching movies on television, playing games on the computer and game consoles. They are entirely loosing interest in outdoor games. Youngsters and Elders are also spending free time watching TV, social networking or working on the computer. So they lack physical exercise, leading to low levels of fitness

With the change in life style, automatically our eating habits also change. Children's diets include a lot of fast foods like burgers& fries and less vegetables and fruits. On the other hand adults are eating, fatty foods, like pastas and frozen TV dinners. People are not putting much effort into their eating for fit body but are eating for convenience and taste.

Keeping fit is not a hard thing at all. All you have to do is incorporate an easy simple routine and see your life change for the better.


Check your eating habits. Don't eat for convenience but for good health. Make the younger generation more aware about the nutritional value of the food they are eating. Encourage yourself and everyone around to eat healthy vegetables. Walk to the neighboring grocery store instead of driving. Persuade the younger ones to indulge in some sort of physical activities for at least an hour everyday. Placing an exercise machine in your living room and using it regularly while watching TV will work for certain. Give yourself a little time daily and exercise for 20-30 minutes. Yoga and aerobics can help in a big way. Last but not the least make walking your daily habit, this will surely help you a lot in boosting your fitness levels.

Fitness is needed for one to stay health, and the ways to get this done does not need cracking your head or spending off pocket limit. You only need these simple ways of daily living while having minor exercises.
