Prepare the cocktail glass by rubbing lime juice on the rim and turning it over a saucer of salt for the salted rim effect. Then add the Tequila, Cointreau and lime juice into a cocktail shaker full of ice and shake well. Strain into the cocktail glass.

Other cocktails you could try at home are the Long Island Iced Tea, Bloody Mary, Classic Martini and Daiquiri. You can get as creative as you wish with cocktails and dress up the glasses with Hawaiian umbrellas, fun stirrers, use a juice or base or glass to match the color of your guests clothing or give them the option of naming their customized cocktails.

Cocktail Tips For Hosts and Guests
Those drinking a cocktail for the first time should opt for light, fruity cocktail with not too much of alcohol.
Cocktails are not only a girls drink. Those with a rum or whisky base go down quite well with the men too.
Mixing spirits is not good for the body and hence it is advisable to stick to one type of alcohol for the day / night. The most common cocktails are either the Mojito or Caipirinha.
For a classy dinner, you can choose to serve Cosmopolitan, Singapore Sling (an Asian original), Mojito, Caipirihna or Mai Tai (fruity and tropical). Martini (King of Cocktails), Gimlet, Manhattan (also known as the Drinking Mans Cocktail) and Campari are good too. For a fun party with friends the Cucumber and Wasabi Martini, Bloody Caesar and Singapore Sling are big hits.
And finally before you start making these cocktails, make sure you have the basics like an alcohol measuring glass, cocktail shaker, strainer and a muddle (pestle) at home. Bacardi, Pimms, Jack Daniels, Smirnoff, Absolut, Hennessey etc are popular brands of alcohol you could use. You could also use quality red wines as a base. Keep in handy common household necessities like sugar, lime, fruits, ice etc.

Have fun!
