Easy & Quick Guide To Writing Follow Up Email Messages

By:

If you plan to actually make sales using an autoresponder, it's important to send out well-written follow up email messages. It takes quite a few visits to your site or blog before a visitor actually purchases. That's why you'll need to keep them interested and engaged in the series of emails you send out. Many people have such short attention spans because they are being bombarded by media from all sides - t.v., cell phones, ipods, iphone, itouch, movies, radio, print etc. You must be able to capture the attention of your audience by giving them something, i.e. 'information' of value and interest to them that reads easily.

Begin first by brainstorming a list of headlines. Make your headlines compelling. Compelling headlines attracts attention from readers, giving them a feeling of excitement about reading the rest of your email. If you send a follow up email message with a shoddy headline, there is a good chance your readers will glance at the email and probably hit the 'delete' button.

In your second follow up email message, let your readers know about your products and services. Most people are immune to advertising and marketing, so the hard sell approach is not what I'm talking about here. Use a conversational style and have the intention to truly be of service. Be sure to explain what your products do and how your readers can benefit from using them.

Another effective technique for getting sales is to include comparisons between what you offer and what your competitors are offering. Potential customers can then clearly see that you are indeed the best, with the best features and the best prices. All it takes is a few satisfied customers, and your credibility rating will go way up. When a customer is satisfied, he will let you and others know. That's called a "testimonial" and you can use it in a future email.

End every email in your autoresponder series with a teaser. You want your customers to eagerly await your next communication. Also, don't forget to include your contact and order information in the footer of each of your messages. It should be easy for your reader to place an order if they wish to do so. When you put a little thought and time into your follow up email messages and you'll quickly increase sales and customer loyalty.
