Have you been told that internet marketing is the easiest way to make money? Working online certainly has its appeal as you can work anytime it suits you. It is open all hours and brings the whole world to your door. No wonder so many people are giving up their 9 - 5 jobs and making a living online instead.

Before starting on the internet though, you need to keep one thing in mind. As well as being the easiest way to make money it is also an easy way to lose money. It's all too easy to get sucked into money making programs that promise you overnight riches and expensive coaching programs that don't deliver. Always keep in mind that if something looks or sounds too good to be true then it probably is.

You need to learn a lot about the internet and its ways if you are a beginner to internet marketing. You might want to find some eBooks or videos that provide you with a step by step plan to follow. Do some research on the authors first to find out if they have a good reputation. Some of the best ones are by well known internet marketers.

It's agreed that affiliate marketing is the easiest way to make money on the internet. You sell someone else's products and services for a commission. The great thing about affiliate marketing is that you do not have to have a website or worry about being in direct contact with the customers. In fact a lot of new internet marketers take this as an opportunity to learn how to make money online.

One of the best places to go to find a product to sell as an affiliate is Clickbank. Decide what you are interested in promoting from one of the many categories and see which products are popular. It's a good idea to choose one that is already selling well. Look at the gravity figures. That will tell you how well affiliates have done with selling the product in the previous 8 weeks. Don't go for the ones with the highest gravity though as there will be too much competition. Look for a gravity of about 75 to 150.

It's important to take into account the commission rate. Some marketers give their affiliates as much as 75% of the selling price.Choose something that will make you at least $20 commission.

It's also a good idea to look for a product that provides help for their affiliates. Find one that includes an affiliate resource URl in the product description. Sign up as an affiliate there too if asked to do so. It should be free. Never pay any money to be an affiliate.

Once you have access to the affiliate center you will get a lot of tools to help you sell the product. You should be able to get sample articles, blog posts, emails, adverts, banners and maybe even tweets that you can use. If you are going to use the articles or blog posts you should always rewrite them in your own words. Others before you will probably have used them so you want yours to be original.

Some of the best selling products have an affiliate manager that will answer you questions. They want their affiliate to do well so are happy to give you a lot of help. Many a successful internet marketer started by selling other people's products. It really is the easiest way to make money on the internet.
