1. An Open Mind

Running your own online business and earning money on the internet is a new experience for many people. Most of us have been conditioned our entire lives to believe that success comes only to those who go to school, get good grades, and get a good job.

We now know that this is completely not the case.

Unfortunately, there is a great deal of proof right now in our society. People are getting laid off left and right, others are losing their retirement money right before their eyes and still others are being foreclosed on because they cant pay their mortgage.

Sadly, they are good people who simply followed this paradigm above.

They studied difficult and got good grades. They went off to college. Then, they got themselves a "good" job. Then, why arent they successful? Why are they struggling to pay their mortgage?

Well, let me explain.

Things have changed. The old paradigm doesnt work anymore and we, as a society havent realized that fact yet. Now, Im not saying that getting good grades, going to college and getting a good job is bad. All I'm trying to point out is that it certainly isn't the magic formula for success that many people would have us believe.

A lot of the time, when someone starts an internet based business, their family and friends tell them that they are crazy. People will frequently say things like "Is this such a good idea? The economy isn't very good."

Yes its a good idea, because you would rather invest in yourself and be in control of your own future than spend your days depending on someone else to provide for you and your family.

I would much rather invest my energy and focus into building my own business, rather than someone else's. Wouldn't you?

This is completely why it is so essential to have an open mind. There are some incredible things you can do with your online business and it will provide you with so much freedom, but you must be willing to let go of some of the old, conditioned beliefs that we have all had at one point in our lives.

If you dont let go of those old beliefs, what is possible online will seem impossible to you. If something seems impossible to you, well then it may as well be, because our minds are very powerful more so than we usually realize.

What we believe in our lives becomes our realitybut thats a topic for another day!

2. A Motivation To Learn

Becoming a successful marketer on the internet is going to require that you learn how to market, from the basics to the advanced techniques and everything in between. More than likely, these are skills you probably don't have right now, but with a motivation to learn, they are skills you will soon posess and they will be something you can not put a price tag on.

Earning money on the internet is like anything else new that you do in life. Think back to when you picked up a basketball for the first time. My guess is you didn't make the all-star team your first week, but after practicing the fundamentals and the skills, I bet you did alright.

The same can be applied to almost anything in life. It really doesn't matter if was basketball, baseball, hockey, softball, a musical instrument or whatever. The concept is still the same.

First learn the fundamentals. Then practice and learn to implement and you will succeed. No short cuts here!

3. Determination and Drive

Before you can begin to earn money on the internet, you must be committed and willing to do whatever it takes to be successful. There are going to be bumps in the road, Im sure, just like anything new in life.

However, if you have the drive and determination to be successful, you will stick with it and get through some of the ups and downs so that you can have the type of success you are looking for.

Think of it this way. If you aren't determined and don't have that drive, then the first bump in the road might be just enough to send you back to your steady paycheck that you are used to. Things will go back to the way they were and nothing will have changed. This is alright, if that is what you really want, but is it?

4. Leadership & Training

This one is huge. Lets say you wanted to become an electrician. Would you go into people's homes changing fuses and messing around with wires when you don't really know what you are doing yet?

I sure hope not.

You would go through the proper training and then probably become an apprentice to another electrician.

That is the way in which we learn. We look for a mentor who can guide us with their experience and provide us with valuable training and leadership. A person who genuinely cares about our well-being. Someone who has once been where we are, who understands our goals, and who is passionate about helping us reach them.

Dont sell yourself short on this one.

Do your due diligence and find someone who you can work with and who is willing to work with you. Find someone who is willing to provide you with the right training platform so you can shave years off your learning curve.

There are no short cuts in this business, but getting the proper training can save you quite a lot of headaches in the long run so do your homework!
