Dyshidrotic Eczema - There Is Life With This Disease

Dyshidrotic eczema is also sometimes called dyshidrotic dermatitis. This skin condition often affects the palms of the hands, the fingers and the soles of the feet in patients. Those who suffer from this condition are reporting a burning or itching sensation that can sometimes get quite severe.

One of the most common signs of this type of dermatitis is a blistering rash that appears on one of the affected regions. The blisters themselves are normally small in size but can be quite deep and cause an intense burning sensation. The skin around the blisters may become inflamed and therefore be red in color and hot to the touch.

Skin that gets cracked and peels away, infections in the affected area causing the blisters to discharge fluid and a change of the skin's texture are all common signs of dyshidrotic eczema. Dyshidrotic dermatitis is a condition which can occur in both men and women of all ages, races and skin types.

This disease is however more likely to affect those who are between the ages of 20 and 40, but it can occur at any stage of the patients life. The exact causes of this condition are still unknown and research is ongoing to try to determine it. There have been a few factors that were seen in patients suffering from the disease which are believed to play a certain role in the eruptions.

Emotional stress, a family history of the disease, exposure to certain chemicals, skin irritants or metals and certain medical therapies are possibly related to outbreaks of dyshidrotic eczema. While there is no definite "cure" that will guarantee that this medical condition will go away and never return, there are still certain treatment options which are available to patients in order to minimize the impact that this condition will have on their lives. In most cases, an outbreak is self-limiting and will be gone by itself after approximately 2 to 3 weeks with solid eczema remedies.
