Durable Double-glazed Glass Units

By:

Glass is used in homes, offices and at almost all the places. It also plays a major role in science and industry. It is this universal usage of glass that has given Glass Industry a major thrust. Also, because of its various physical and chemical properties, glass is used as laboratory equipments, reinforcement material and as glass art. Glasses are mostly transparent and brittle. But there are some exceptions too. Take for example, double glazed glass unites, which are essentially window panes made two glass panes with spaces in between. This space could be few millimeters and is usually filled with air. High scrutiny is ensured while preparing this glass so that no moisture escapes between the two glass sheets.

Houses with single window panes suffer maximum heat loss. With double glazed units in place, heat loss can be minimized to a large extent. These glass units are also good for the environment by cutting down the carbon emission. More so, if a house is already warm courtesy these units, one wont require many heaters as well, further cutting down on electricity bills. Another good aspect of these glass units is the security they provide to homes as they are hard to break.

One more popular variety of glass is Frosted Glass, which is produced by sandblasting or acid etching of the clear glass sheet. This process makes the glass translucent and this quality corresponds to its many uses. Being translucent makes it an ideal choice for areas that need privacy. For instance, in lounges, coffee shops or even in offices to create divisions within a single cubicle.

Theres one more category of glass- Self-cleaning Glass that is equally favored. It is made through photo catalytic decomposition that allows this glass to innately repel dirt. Moreover, rain-drops always spread uniformly on this glass and keeps it neat and clean.
