When first glancing upon Dunham Massey Hall in Manchester onlookers will be met with the vivid imagery conjured by a grand mansion set in a sizeable country estate and deer park. Surrounded by a moat, this one time house and later military hospital is now a popular tourist attraction that is frequented by countless travellers to Manchester.

The approach to the hall itself is quite scenic with fields on one side and a lake on the other creating a serene opening to your time at Dunham Massey. Upon reaching the ticket counter, a choice of tickets are on offer for the different sections of Dunham Massey including the Hall, Deer Park and Gardens allowing visitors a choice over what they want to see.

Dunham Massey Hall itself is an expansive space that features a host of rooms in addition to a substantial basement type area that are well worth a look. Housed inside are several items of interest including the premier collection of Huguenot silver in all of Britain, a carving entitled Crucifixion, a white marble bust of Emperor Hadrian and a vast collection of paintings.

The Deer Park is home to an ancient breed of fallow deer that have been carefully preserved and roam freely across the 250 acre space. Visitors are also advised to bring along binoculars if they have them as getting close to deer can be difficult as they are easily frightened.

But deer arent the only forms of life that can be found here. In fact the site has a well established reputation of being home to a large number of wood decay beetles. These beetles are attracted to the impressive 600 hectares of woodland. Birds also reside on the estate including all three varieties of woodpeckers, goldcrest and treecreepers. The lake is inhabited by tufted ducks that glide along its surface.

Residing in a Manchester hotel with a centralized location in the city will allow travellers to access various destinations in the area with ease in addition to key transport links. Copthorne Hotel Manchester presents a Manchester England hotel situated on the prominent Salford Quays development and is opposite a Metrolink tram stop.
