Dry, Painful Winter Skin? Tricks To Beat Those Winter Months

By:

When winter comes, everything becomes dry; your hair, skin and even your heels. These are just some of the problems during winter - especially for women. There are a lot of skin care products that you put on not knowing that they just add more dryness to your skin. Here is some advice to maintain your youthful and healthy skin even during the winter season.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that dry skin needs water, not oil. Oil or lotions may remove the appearance of dry skin but does not solve the problem at all. You need to drink lots of water during winter because it acts as the body's purifier and freshener. Water is the best answer to have that glowing and healthy skin. It does that by hydrating your skin and body as a whole.

Something else you can do to fight against dry skin in those winter months is to healthy foods such as vegetables and fruits. Opting for veggies and fruits instead of oily foods will hydrate and in turn, help your skin. Include melons such as watermelons and honeydew into your diet.

Most people utilize lotions and moisturizers in the day time when it's not really effective (people wash their hands, etc.) A nice, quality moisturizer should be used at night after wiping off any make up. It is important not to over wash your hands and face.

The last tip I'll give sounds cliche but has more effect on your skin than you think: stress. While noone can eliminate stress completely from their lives, learn to not take it to heart. Stress appears on your skin and face more than you think. Following these tips and tricks, your skin will return to its healthy self.
