Driving In And Around Bedfordshire

Bedfordshire is a perfect area to discover while driving your own vehicle.

Sitting in the middle of England Bedfordshire is a county noted for its rolling hills and rural life. The largest town in Bedfordshire is Luton, meaning access to Bedfordshire is easy via the Luton International Airport.

Bedfordshire is home to no less than 3 excellent wildlife attractions. Woburn Abbey and Safari Park is a 3,000 acre wildlife park set within the grounds of the abbey itself.

Parking is more than ample so you have not got to worry about where to park. For something a little more traditionally English Mead Open Farm is a great day out for the entire family, a working farm with daily demonstration.

Whispnade Zoo is considered to be one of the finest in England, and contains some excellent newly reconstructed animal enclosures. All of these wildlife parks are fairly close together so you can drive between each and visit all in he space of a day.

The countryside in Bedfordshire is very beautiful, areas of natural splendour such as Dunstable Downs make a wonderful picnic destination.

Dunstable Downs is also home to the local glider and hang gliding club as well as having a small local airfield, sit in the peace and tranquillity of the downs and watch these majestic aircraft exploit the thermals coming up off the hills.

There are excellent eating establishment, hotels and guesthouses throughout Bedfordshire and lots of rural quaint public houses. Please be aware of the drink drive limit if you do wish to frequent one of these or to be safe refrain from alcohol consumption altogether.

Bedfordshire is also home to Luton Town football club. The club has quite a good tradition in recent years with some high profile players, especially in the seventies.

Watford is another football club in the area and hold a massive rivalry with Luton. Both are excellent choices for an eventful day out during football season. Watford have recently been in the premiership so have seen the likes of Manchester United grace their pitch.

If you are unable to drive you will find hundreds of driving schools in Bedford where you can order a driving lesson or crash course in driving.

Always ensure that your driving instructor has the correct credentials to be teaching people, all instructors have a license that they can produce to keep you satisfied.
