Dressing Up With Boots

By:

Boots are a very powerful fashion statement, that may drive your choices for the rest of the ensemble. There are a few boots, which are really high-top dress shoes that don't make themselves so noticed, because they are hidden under your dress pants so they really do show as boots and only look like dress shoes to others. We are not talking about those.

The boots we are referring to are the ones that stand out, tall and proud. They are either instantaneously recognized as boots, like the black lace up jack-boots of the military style, or hiking boots or cowboy boots even if they are partially hidden under the pant leg.

The fun with boots is that they stand out. They can be worn fully exposed to make them stand out even more. If you spend $3,000 on exotic animal skin cowboy boots, you probably want to show them off. Cowboy boots in this league are a serious fashion investment.

They come in many extreme styles, made from very usual animal skins, such as ostrich, alligator, and snakeskin. OK guys, if you are as they say in Texas, "All hat and no cattle", then maybe you would not be able to appreciate spending thousands of dollars on a pair of custom-made exotic cowboy boots, but believe me just like women who routinely go shoe crazy and drop this kind of money on a pair of Manolo boots, there are men that take this much pride in their cowboy boots.

They also usually have a hand gun in the glove box of their truck if you happen to disagree with them and make the mistake of spitting on their boots. Did you know Rolls Royce also makes a custom Rolls Royce pickup truck? Even if you have the boots to go with it, that a bit over the top for anywhere outside of Texas.

Does this mean that cowboy boots are out of fashion everywhere outside of Texas? No Siree. Cowboy boots have and always will make their appearances on the most fashionable runways in the world. They just will not be red, white, and blue dyed buffalo hide with big star emblems. Actually a completely black outfit with those exact boots might actually work on the runways. Designers please feel free to go wild.

When you get away from the cowboy look, you have some other interesting choices. Hiker's boots or workman's boots are a great casual fashion statement when worn with jeans and a plaid shirt. "He's a lumberjack and he's O.K." was the Monty Python parody of this All-American look. Jokes aside, it is still a nice look, strong, masculine, and comfortable.

The same goes for any type of black quasi-military laced up boots. They work with almost any casual wear and add that element of strong tough masculine energy that is clear you mean business when you are wearing these kind of boots. These are all casual (not formal, there really are no formal boots not counting official military wear) choices so feel free to express yourself.
