By:

A good diet coupled with exercise is the best way to look great physically. The more you loose pounds, the better your clothes will fit and the more confident you will be.

We understand that losing weight is not an overnight thing. So while you are still a few steps away your goal, here are some useful fashion tips to achieve a slimmer-looking figure.

The Perfect fit
Your clothes should not be too tight neither too loose. Too tight garments will unravel bumps in your body, very loose clothing meanwhile may hide problem areas but it can also make you look bigger. When shopping, make sure that garment pieces fit comfortably well.

Squared shoulder tops
Tops with sloped shoulders tend to give more attention down the midsection and should therefore be avoided. To focus ones attention on your chest and face instead, ensure that all your tops have slightly squared shoulders.

Low-rise Bottoms
Low-rise trousers are good investment - it will have a shorter distance from your waist to the crotch of your pants rather than regular trousers. Another thing is to make sure that the waistband is large enough to accommodate your stomach. Pants with pleats should also be avoided because it enhances your pelvic area.

Unload Excess Baggage
Keep your pockets free from unnecessary items like bulky wallets or cell phones that could make your large midsection more prominent. Bulky side pockets in your pants should be sewn or taken off.

Choice of Dress Shirts
Tapered dress shirts, no matter how elegant are a big no-no. Regular or straight cut fit is more advisable.

Go for Three-Button Blazers
Wear blazers with three buttons rather than those with just one or two. They are equally classy like two-button ones however they will stretch your body making you look taller and thinner. Always leave the top button on your blazer unfastened to prevent your clothes from pulling, most especially around the middle portion, so that your movement will not be restricted.

Appropriate Necktie
The larger your built is the wider necktie you need. Skinny ties will just make you look like you are choking. A larger necktie knot is also advisable, like the double Windsor. To compliment your larger neck size, the knot should more triangular in shape. Either you are tall or have a neck size of more than 17 inches; extra long ties (XL size) are perfect for you.

Tips on Posture
You simply have to stand up straight as possible at all times. This will make you look like you are 10 to 15 pounds lighter. Another tip to go is to wear shoes of about half an inch or one inch to appear slimmer.
