Today was a horrible rainy Sunday. It was the kind of day that you would like to pull the sheets over your head and simply go back to sleep. However with a three year old and five year old to keep entertained, there was no chance of that happening. We got up and carried out the usual routine. Breakfast, washing, ironing, childrens tv, school reading books and then a bath. Then the usual question came. What are we doing today?
I suggested reading, DVD, painting or I even gave them the option of going swimming. Nothing was good enough and apparently everything was boring. They wanted to do something different. After enjoying a light lunch I packed them both into the car and set off in search of something exciting to do. I really did not hold out much hope. Another issue was money. It was the nearing the end of the month and I hadnt yet been paid, consequently funds were a little tight. So I was looking for an exciting and free activity. Not an easy task.
On the way to the motorway my little boy noticed that there were a lot of horses queueing up to get into a little car park at the side of the road. There was a riding school located there and I said that there must be some kind of competition being held. They immediately announced that they wanted to watch. I quickly swung the
New Volvo V60 Wigston car round and joined the other cars in the queue.
What a perfect decision it was. Firstly it was free and secondly it was spectacular. It was a dressage competition. Basically like horse ballet. It really was fabulous and the children loved it. It was a bit like going to the circus. Since we have arrived back home I have heard nothing else apart from the horses. Lets just hope they didnt like it too much as horse riding is a very expensive hobby.
