TomTom voices are utilized for GPS navigation directions. Just like mobile phone ring tones, TomTom voices can be customized the way you like it and modified and replaced whenever you want it. Tomtom gives you the chance to choose from a wide range of voice-skins. But you should pay attention to the accent of the speaker or to some meanings of the words that are different from a country or region to another. So be sure you first understand the message!

An excellent example of TomTom voice-skin could be Yoda, one of the people of Star Wars movie, whose message sounds like: "May the force be with you". Another hero from the same movie, Darth Vader, whose directions begin with: "Your journey to the dark side begins now."

There are many websites from where you can get those TomTom Voices for free, but the drawback is that you can not listen to what you download, but since they are free, you can delete them afterwords, if you don't like them. And some of them provide another voice option called Silent Voice, which is perfect for the moment when you would like your GPS to stop talking, for example when you have a child sleeping in your car or when you are tired and you want to focus only on driving.
