The number of comedy series both old and new ones being aired on television has increased a lot these days. The old series are going into their next seasons as they have been liked and have been successful and are expected to maintain their success and are thus backed by the broadcasters and producers while the new series get mixed responses. There a number of both type of television series and they have been increasing these days.

A very popular American comedy television series Curb your Enthusiasm has had seventy episodes in total during its seven successful seasons. Apart from having some actors in recurring roles, it has Larry David, Jeff Greene and Cheryl David in the lead roles. Written and created by Larry David, the show has been produced and broadcasted on HBO and the show has also seen a number of guest appearances by a number of celebrities.

David is an actor, producer, and writer in Los Angeles who is semi retired and has got everything that is supposedly necessary for a happy life. He has got good friends, a loving wife, a great home and a successful career but life is not what it should be as some time or the other something wrong happens to him and this is what Curb your enthusiasm is all about. A self depreciating picture of David has been shown in Curb your enthusiasm. In a season almost all the shows have an arc over them and the show has been a well written one.

David and HBO were involved in a mock documentary which was of one hour in 1999, named Larry David: Curb you Enthusiasm and the television series has been inspired from this work. The seventh season of Curb your Enthusiasm ended on 22 November 2009 and the eight seasoned will be aired in 2011. If everything goes as planned, Curb your Enthusiasm will become HBO's longest running scripted series.

Curb your enthusiasm has been very successful and popular as is evident from the big list of awards that it has received and the nominations in various categories that it has got. To name a few, it won the AFI comedy series of the year award in 2002, Banff Rockie award for best comedy program in 2003, Artios award for best casting for TV comedy episodic in 2003, Emmy award in 2003 for outstanding directing for a comedy series (Robert.B.Weide) and Golden Globe award for best television series- musical or comedy in 2002. In all it has been nominated for thirty Emmy awards which is no small feat.

On October 19, 2006 a Curb your Enthusiasm book containing various colored photographs and other various information regarding Larry David's career was released which was published by Gotham books. The various DVDs for various curb your enthusiasm seasons are also available. An unofficial album of Curb your enthusiasm has also been released in May 2006 by Mellowdrama records.

The show provides a good amount of entertainment and laughs and can be watched through various sources. It can be either watched online or by buying a DVD. The show is very enjoyable and should be watched if anyone has not watched it so far.
