Double Up Double Down And Throw Those Statins Away

Double Up Double Down And Throw Those Statins Away

By:

A few years back, at a medical conference, a large group of friends,
doctors all, went out to dinner. About halfway through the meal, we
started talking about statins. Statins are drugs prescribed to
cardiac patients and some others, ostensibly to lower their
cholesterol levels. Some common statins are Crestor, Lipitor,
Mevacor, Zocor and Pravachol.

In 2010, some years after this event, there is now wide agreement
that statins alone are NOT "The Answer" to coronary artery disease
and they may even be harmful, in some respects. Turns out that there
IS such a thing as a cholesterol that is too LOW, because
cholesterol is an important building block for hormones and other
vital substances in the body.

This doesn't stop cardiologists from prescribing them pretty feely
and now, other doctors are following that freewheeling example. If
you get a cholesterol reading that is too high, even your family
physician may prescribe them. There has even been some talk of
putting them in the drinking water, if you can believe it!

At that dinner, many of us had entered our sixth decade, with a lot
of clinical experience between us and so, the discussion got rolling
around to the statins. Studies were cited, back and forth, research
was called into question and side effects were debated for the next
hour or so. The bottom line seemed to be this: statins are probably
being overprescribed.

Now why would that be? It might be because of the bullshizzle being
fed to the docs and the public by the drug companies.

See, statins work by blocking a specific enzyme that creates
cholesterol in the liver. But the downside is that it also blocks
cholesterol production systemically, that is, in the rest of the
body, too. This includes the brain, where it is extremely important,
as a constituent of the membranes of brain and nerve cells.

I can't and won't tell you to stop taking statins. Not only is that
against the rules, but only your own doctor knows your individual
situation. However, you do need to have a very serious discussion
with whatever doctor prescribes them for you, including all the pros
and cons...and the alternatives.

What I CAN tell you is that there ARE ways to protect your heart,
without using any drugs. The first is to use my ultra pure, enteric
coated, pharmaceutical grade fish oil---Powerhouse Omega Formula---
and many of you already take it. The Powerhouse Omega Formula does a
lot of beneficial things, but, by itself, it does not lower LDL
("bad") cholesterol.

But, when you combine it with my new Cholesterol Crushing Formula,
it can lower your bad cholesterol, as well as your blood pressure.
And it has none of the side effects of statins, such as:

Nausea
Vomiting
Headaches
Drowsiness
Dizziness
Muscle aches (These can be really bad.)
Flushing
Sleep abnormalities

The key ingredient in my Cholesterol Crushing Formula is Allicin,
derived from its precursor, Alliin. Both are derived from a potent,
pharmaceutical grade of garlic extract. You know, that stuff that
gets a cheer whenever Emeril Lagasse puts it in a dish: BAM!
And in the process of of getting it to you in an enteric coated
capsule, we have..."destinkified" it. (I think I'm going to get a
trademark on that.) In the destinkification process, no chemicals
are used, but the odor is eliminated and the enteric coating makes
sure it passes through the stomach, before it dissolves. Therefore,
no "blowback."

But the real benefit is that CCF, especially when taken with the
fish oil, substantially lowers the risk factors that could result in
a heart attack, like the one that took my father at age 54 and the
one that almost took one of my partners, at exactly the same age.
In gambling, doubling up and doubling down is for suckers. But when
it comes to your heart, it's the smart play.
