Most marketers will send all their traffic (potential prospects) to a sales page where they will convert around 2% if they're good. But what about the other 98%, where do they go? They will leave that page forever and probably never come back! Instead of doing things the traditional way, setup a squeeze page so you can capture names and email addresses and followup with those people. Once you can build a relationship with those people you will convert much more than just 2% of them to double or triple your profits.

Following up on the Internet is so easy, especially with autoresponders where you can load messages in and follow up with people automatically. If they want some information and didnt purchase, at least they can get something free related to it. Then you can follow up and educate them and try to develop the relationship with them and stay in touch with them. Follow up, follow up, follow up - make it your new mantra. It's even possible to get up to nine times the profitability out of promotions just by following up three times. Theres a huge difference in the results you get to the bottom line if you will just follow up.

You dont have to be aggressive about it either. Its just that youre being of service to people by reminding them that this thing is available until a certain period of time. The reasons why people dont respond are many the spaghetti boiled over or the kids have to go to soccer practice. The email didnt get delivered. They didnt like your subject line the first time and they didnt open it. It got caught in the spam box, etc. Who knows?

Theres all kind of things that can preclude people from taking action. Maybe they really wanted to do it but the credit card was in the other room and they didnt feel like getting out of the chair or all of a sudden their favorite TV show came on and then youre out of mind at that point. Don't get caught thinking the first offer was bad, theres all kind of reasons why they may not respond the first time.

Another thing you should also know is that if you send out an email and you get some people that do respond positively, either they sign up or they buy, youve actually hit the nerve of the marketplace, even if its just a few people that responded. So always make sure that you follow up to any promotion you do that has any positive response at all. If it has zero response, then maybe you need to rethink the approach youre taking or the offer youre making.
