Don't Get Caught In The Cold Without Your Propane Fire Pit

By:

Everyone loves a camp fire especially when camping in the winter months. One problem with camp fires is that they need wood and lots of it. What can you do if you get to a busy camp site and all the wood has already been collected by your fellow campers? You will never have to worry about this if you pack a portable propane fire pit in the car. Nothing beats the crackle of a wood fire but if you need heat for cooking and keeping warm then an outdoor fire pit is the next best solution.

Propane fire pits come with many advantages over the traditional camp fire. The biggest advantage by far is that a propane fire pit burner doesn't require the use of wood. This can free up a lot of time upon first arriving at a camp site. A good sized propane gas tank will last for many hours with many of the outdoor fire pits and take up much less room than firewood.

You will also feel safer knowing that your propane fire pit is not going to start any errant fires with flying sparks. Circling the camp fire to get away from the smoke will also not be required with a fire pit. As well as missing out on smoke you also won't get any ashes. Less work means more fun which is always a good thing. Simple and easy. The fact that there is no smoke also makes fire pits perfect for the backyard cook out as you won't be annoying the neighbors with a wood fire and your guests won't be going home stinking like a forest fire.

You will need to take note of a couple of things when deciding on a fire pit. Some models don't come with hoses or fittings. If you are buying online make sure you know what's in the box. If you need to buy fittings separately make sure you note the size your model needs. You also need to keep your tank a little away from the flames so get a hose of sufficient length. Your tank is also less likely to get knocked over.

All fire pits are not equal so check the heat output rating as well. You want to be able to get a decent amount of warmth on those cooler nights. A BTU rating of at least 60,000 should be sufficient for most peoples purposes. You will also want to make sure you check the efficiency rating of the fire pit as well. Weight for weight propane is a more economical fuel source than fire wood but you still want to make sure you get the most out of it.
