Common misjudgment may form a wrong conclusion that Mexican cuisine is tarnished by the fast food lifestyle associated with many snack bars in the United States. This is a result of a blending of cuisines throughout time between the the Aztecs, the Spanish conquistadores and the native Mexicans. It is because of this history that we now have such a diverse range of recipes, using ingredients that have gradually been gathered through the civilizations. As time went by, traditional Mexican recipes were immersed in a variety of different spices and other ingredients, to eventually supply us with the recipes which we all know and love today.

Authentic Mexican cuisine is nothing like the fast food that is passed off as Mexican in an average American snack bar. The roots of these foods can be tracked back to the 16th century and as the Mayan and Aztec cultures intertwined and developed with significant Spanish influence, the variety of foods advanced accordingly to meet the requirements of the people.

Another point you may have observed if you've had the chance to visit Mexico recently is the genuine warmth of the people and their tendency to have a great time, especially during a feast. Mexicans always like to party and they make an occasion of every chance to get together and feast. While they may be renowned for drinking alcohol and a number of popular brews have come from this spirited country, if you relax and investigate all the choices when trying to come up with dinner ideas you will be totally astonished at the delicious options on the table.
