You always get a thrill when you look down and see Pocket Aces. Of course aces are no guarantee, they get cracked sometimes, but Id take them every time. So would most poker players. The main thing with aces is to remember, you only get them every 220 hands on average, so youd want to maximize the opportunity by building a large pot. I see players go all-in with pocket aces, especially early on in poker tournaments, when theres not much more than the blinds in the pot, and most always just pick up the blinds, maybe plus a small bet or two, just a few poker chips. They possibly risk their entire
Custom Poker Chips stack for a small pot, and most likely lose all of their potential victims.
Then there are those who play them way too slow. If you leave many players in the pot your chances of getting cracked increase dramatically. Its best to play aces just against 2 or at most 3 players so bet accordingly, and get some chips in the pot early (youre a big favorite so far) and lose most but not all of the players. From there on just play good poker, and remember, dont fall in love with those aces too much or theyll bite you badly. There comes a time to fold those aces in certain circumstances. Minimize the chances of losing it all just because they are aces. Dont get carried away with the hand and lose it all based on the starting strength of aces, compared to after some flops. The initial strength of the hand can quickly change, so see a flop. Then try to maximize the pot on the times you get them by just keeping in a couple of players and build an early pot since they usually hold up after the flop.
This can help with overcoming the old saying that With Aces you win a little or lose a lot.
