Dominate The Starcraft 2 Ladders

The thing about this game Starcraft 2 is that it is not as easy as everyone thinks it is. Sure playing in the lower leagues seems easy when you are facing newbies. But in order to get past the beginners stage you need to focus on a few things that will make you a better player.

There are so many elements and variables of the game that it can take a while to get down and perfect as you become a faster player. Speed in this game is about how many actions per minute you can do.

I have noticed that when you are in the platinum league you will see a lot of surve ball strategies thrown at you. It is important to understand exactly how to prevent these. As an example lets say your opponent is Zerg and they go for a 7 supply spawning pool in order to get zerglings out. This will put them behind on their economy a bit.

You have to know your race and units inside and out. Know what they are capable of. This is all part of making those important decisions. As an example lets say you build a third expansion as Terran but your army is away from it since your primary base needs the most protection. So it would be smart to upgrade that command center to a fortress rather than an orbital command to protect.

The key to being a player to be reckoned with is not giving up in a game. If you lost a few workers from a rush early in the game you can still bounce back and return the favor. Having this kind of gaming mentality is what will separate your from the lower leagues.

Always remember to scout at the start of each game but do not send a worker out until around 10 supply. Then be sure to keep scouting after that so you have a good idea of what you need to counter your opponent with.
