Does The Desert Call Your Name?

Owning a piece of your own land is a dream that is achieved in America everyday. I don't know when this became only an 'American Dream', but people around the world have sought the ability to control their future by securing a piece of property. Whether to build a home, or establish a farm or business, land ownership frees the imagination and helps us soar to high heights.

Sadly, the price of purchasing a piece of land to use for your own puts this dream out of reach for most people. How can this dream be achieved? Is there a way to be able to own your own property? There are lots for sale in Texas, not too far from the city of Odessa, that are inexpensive and offer the beauty and freedom desired by Americans. These are not tiny 'city' lots that measure in fractions of an acre, but instead are twenty acres in size. The climate in Texas varies, offering you the chance to visit your property in many different seasons.

Odessa is a vibrant city that has almost one hundred thousand people, multiple colleges and job opportunities. It lies in a basin of mesquite trees and grass that offer sweeping vistas of the Guadalupe Mountains . While the western part of Texas offers a multitude of different recreational opportunities, from hunting and fishing to camping, mountain biking and backpacking, it is best known for its desert.

The night sky can be darker and show stars never seen in a city because of the lack of light pollution. The heavens seem so much closer to Earth because of the thinner air at the higher altitudes. Unique in being one of the last wide open areas in America, the opportunity to own your own piece of heaven on Earth is just a few easy payments away. The monthly cost of owning a piece of the this beautiful desert is less than many people spend eating out each week. This area of Texas is one of the last places this kind of environment can be found and if it is not preserved, it will soon vanish.

Thankfully the government of the United States recognized its value a long time ago and declared Big Bend National Park, an area of 800,000 acres and the Guadalupe Mountains National Park of 86,000 acres to preserve the great beauty and resources in western Texas.
