Dodge Used Cars- The Avenger As A Used Vehicle

Dodge Used Cars- The Avenger As A Used Vehicle

By:

Dodge used cars like the Avenger was introduced to the market place back in 2008. This particular model was a new redesign from the Chrysler Sebring, but Dodge wanted to make new mid-size sedan that was more attractive and less expensive. When you look at the Avenger it really looks like a baby version of the Dodge Charger and this is the reason why they decided to produce a more appealing mid-size sedan other than the Sebring. The Dodge Avenger competes against the likes of the Chevrolet Malibu, Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata and the Kia Magentis just to name a few. My research will be on the Dodge Avenger as a used vehicle.

This four door sedan has a sporty exterior to it but its interior has a way to go. Dodge always seems to throw a lot of cheap plastic and leather into their cabins and the Avenger is no exception. The interior has only one color scheme and its a light gray. The one good quality the Avenger has in its interior cabin is the dash-board; this has a nice titanium/chrome accent. Some of the standard options that come with the Avenger are power windows/lock, AC, CD/MP3 player, front and curtain airbags and cruise control.

I found several different fuel statistics for the various engines that the Dodge avenger has to offer. The base model (the 4 cylinder) has a fuel rating of 9.7-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 6.6-litres, per 100km for highway driving. The 2.7-litre engine has a fuel rating of 10.8-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.2-litres, per 100km for highway driving. The V6, 3.5-litre engine has a fuel rating of 12.9-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.4-litres, per 100km for highway driving.

There are several different engine sizes from 2008. In 2008 the base model (the SE) and the SXT had the 2.4-litre engine and this produced 173 horsepower (the SXT could option for the V6, 2.7-litre as well and this had 189 horsepower). The R/T model used a V6, 3.5-litre engine and this produced 235 horsepower.

Lets look at some of the pros and cons of the Dodge Avenger as a used vehicle:

1-The 2008 model was given a bad rating from a online leading consumer
watch dog for a used car to buy.
2-There is a problem with the shifter being stuck in park. This is related to a transmission cable that doesnt hold onto the clip.
3-It got a five star rating by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a frontal crash test done to it.

I hope this helps when looking at Dodge used cars like the Avenger.
