The dissertation writing project
The doctoral dissertation writing will develop a project included in the commitment referred to in Article 7, and therefore must be endorsed by the director and, where appropriate, co-directors assigned. The choice of dissertation writing topics will have been freely agreed by the candidate and his director and co-directors.
The project will explicitly indicate at least the subject matter of the dissertation writing, a summary of the prior art, the essential bibliography, methodology and work plan and possible outcomes.
The University will establish a register in which shall be entered all projects supported doctoral dissertation writing, once completed its first registration, and which will include at least the following:
Date of first registration
Doctoral dissertation writing topic.
Brief report on its contents (max 2000 characters).
Director and, where appropriate, co-directors.
Department that carries out its work.
Doctoral dissertation
For doctoral dissertation, the Department supported the doctoral student will be assigned a supervisor, heard the PhD. The
dissertation writing director must be a doctor and have permanent links with the Department of the Public University of Navarra. However, the dissertation writing Department may ask the Doctoral Committee of the University to authorize the supervision of the dissertation writing for a doctor from the Department that does not have this ongoing relationship with the University.
The director of the dissertation writing is a doctor with proven research experience. The thesis may be co-managed by other doctors.
The thesis shall be consistent with the commitment PhD. Any modification to it must be ratified by all parties, and reported to the dissertation writing Doctoral Committee of the University who can accept it or not in the same conditions stated in Article 7.
In particular, the shift supervisor or co-introduction of dissertation writing, holding the project must have the express written consent of the former director of the Department.
Dissertation writing project monitoring
The PhD student will be evaluated for their activity after a period of not less than 18 nor more than 30 months from the execution of the first registration. The temporary disability, maternity, adoption or foster care by the doctor will discontinue the calculation. Similarly, the Doctoral Thesis Committee of the University may consider other circumstances occurring, justified, and both the director and the doctor in order to interrupt this computer. In the case of trainees under the Statute of Staff for Research in Education, this assessment must be conducted before starting the contract phase.
The Department shall appoint a Monitoring Committee composed of three doctors, with proven research experience, including at least one will be outside the Public University of Navarra, and no one can be director or co-director of the dissertation writing. The said commission may be specific for each doctor or common to several, depending on their thematic affinity.
The dissertation writing evaluation will consist of a test in which the doctoral student must make a public exhibition of no less than 30 minutes, the progress made in the time taken by the
dissertation writing, to be followed by a discussion with members Commission. The Monitoring Committee will also seek, in confidence; say both the doctor and the director of the dissertation writing on the evolution in the composition and degree of development of the dissertation writing. You can also request a report from the Department in the same direction.
The monitoring committee should make an assessment about the situation of doctoral dissertation writing and degree of maturity reached by the doctoral research:
If the assessment is negative, the student must leave the dissertation writing project.
If assessment is positive, the student may continue with doctoral theses.
The evaluation will be positive, but subject to the modification of some aspects of the Initial Commitment Agreement, particularly in regard to the dedication and time.
The assessment must be reported no later than five working days after completion of the test both the Department and the Commission of Doctorate of the University, which in turn communicate to the candidate. This may present a complaint to the Doctoral Committee within ten calendar days which is communicated. Against the decision of the Doctoral Committee may be brought on appeal to the Rector.
If the deadline referred to in paragraph 1 of this article has not undergone the assessment work of the Monitoring Committee, or has applied for admission to processing for defense, a commitment to lose validity argument. However, the student may, for once, re-apply for admission in the same department to continue the same doctoral dissertation writing.
