Do You Want To Survive A Self Defense Attack? Take A Lesson From The Story Of David And Goliath!

Do you know the story of David & Goliath? It's a story that practically every child in the Western World learns, regardless of whether he or she is raised Christian or not! Now, before you think that this is about religion, bare with me and read on. I promise that, as usual, there is method to my madness!

Here's the gist of the story which is described in the Old Testament of the Christian Bible and, more briefly, in the Qur'an...

The Israelites are facing the Philistines in battle and, according to the story, twice a day for 40 days Goliath, this giant of a man, comes out from between the Philistine lines and challenges any Israelite to fight him in mortal combat. This battle was to "decide the outcome," and supposedly if the Israelite champion defeats him, then the Philistines will "just go away."

Well, Saul and his Israelites are terrified of this guy and, as you can imagine, very few take the challenge.

Then one day this young boy named - you guessed it - David, is bringing food to his brothers on the battlefield, and hears of the challenge. Knowing that the leader, Saul, has promised a great reward to the one who beats this monster, David accepts the challenge.

Short and sweet version is that David goes out, slams a rock into the giant's forehead, and cuts off his opponent's head with the Philistine's OWN sword!

And, as they say, the rest is (religious) history!

But, what does this have to do with modern self defense? Why am I regaling you with a story from the Bible, when you signed on for lessons in self defense? And, those are fair questions.

I decided to use this story because it paints a picture of the true nature of self defense! Because, if you truly get it... if you really understand the difference between a "fair fight," a contest or sporting competition like boxing or a martial arts tournament, and real world self protection...

Then you know that in a self defense situation...

YOU will be "David" facing the biggest "Goliath" you could ever imagine!

That doesn't mean that your assailant will be over 7 feet tall, or that you have to hit him in the head with a rock thrown from a sling either! What it means is that, your attacker will be making damned sure that the odds are not only in his favor, but so stacked against you, that "fighting fair" will do nothing but get you beaten, broken, or worse!

The story of David & Goliath is about NOT using the typical strategies being used by everyone else. In the story, David is offered Saul's armor, and probably a different weapon than a sling and a couple of rocks!

Because in a life-threatening, self defense encounter with a real-life attacker - not your training partner in class - YOU will need to do what most people, including most black belt "masters" NEVER think of! Because, if you fight like everyone else, then chances are that your attacker knows what you're going to do. And...

He'll be waiting for it so he can crush your defense before you even get a chance to use it.

In fact, most attackers DO NOT care that you learned self defense, or that you're going to try to defend yourself! They don't care because either they are crazy with anger, or they have taken great pains to make sure that you are an easy target and that they hold all the cards.

Do you want to have the advantage and be able to survive - especially when conventional logic says that you should fail? How? By knowing the SCIENCE of self Defense and by being able to use skills, techniques, and tactics that are outside the box of what most people know about and think of when it comes to fighting and self defense!
