Do You Want To Defend Yourself Against Identity Theft? Try This!

If you shop online a lot or you pay your bills or check your banking information; you NEED to be secure. And it's not possible all the time, especially when you aren't on a secured network. This happens a lot when I go to places like the coffee shop down the street. I HAVE to connect to their network and then I get paranoid that someone will see what I am doing and what my passwords are for certain things. So one of the things I decided to check out are these add-on toolbars which you can download for your browser.

Right now, I am using FireFox and have one of these nifty little programs installed on my browser, and I love it. It's just a small little add-on like your spellchecker, Twitterfox, or any other app you have added in the past. You can just as easily "shut" the program down when you don't want it to be on your browser, but I would really suggest keeping it live and online. After all, this is ALL about security. Now you can pay bills online, do online bill payment or even do secure online shopping and you will not have to worry about if you are safe from Internet predators that like to steal impertinent information like credit card numbers and bank account routing numbers.

These programs, depending on which one you use, will also have a few other options as well, so let's take a look at a few that are available:

- Track your online transactions whether you're paying bills or shopping. You can see reports based on your monthly or yearly spending, by category, or by company where payments were made (e.g. Comcast, Amazon, Verizon).

- Has a shopping assistant which makes online shopping quick and easy with Password Assistant and Fill Form - it works on all your favorite sites (e.g. Amazon, Target, Banana Republic).

- You can pay bills at company websites (e.g. Comcast, Verizon) using Fill Form and Password Assistant. It also sends you payment reminders, stores payment receipts and provides transaction reporting. The fill form and password assistant is incredibly useful. I have a lot of sites I belong to and I am always forgetting my passwords - not with this toolbar!

- eWallet is also available and is used to store all of your payment and contact information. This information is encrypted and stored on your PC. eWallet can be used at any point with the Fill Form button to fill online forms.

eWallet was actually like something I used a few years back, but it was used separately away from the secure toolbar so that was a little annoying. But now with new developments these designers that make the programs can include everything you need in one little program and it won't take up a lot of space either. Remember, this is all about being secure, but it's also about being able to function your browser as well. No use in having a program that makes life harder for you even though its secure. So check out a few different programs available and see which one fits you the best. These are usually free to download as well, so that is nice too!
