Do You Want A Creative Way To Decorate Your Home?

By:

When I think of a home's decor, I think of a person's persona. It's how you see them or at least a piece of them anyway. When you find people that have fun things in their home - they are usually fun types of people. When you find people that dislike a lot of color and have a lot of steel and glass in their house they are usually more on the stern side. In the case of decorating your home, while your home might reflect you, there isn't a rule that says it has to. In fact, I love a lot of art deco, contemporary, island style. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I wouldn't find romantic home decor appealing - because I would. I'm sort of eclectic like that! The point is, it's your home. You have to live in it. You have to look at it.

So if you want something wild and funky or plain but posh - go for it. One of the styles that a lot of people seem to be interested in is that of Victorian and French decor. These are the types of furniture and accessories that you would expect to see back in the 1700s and 1800s. And some people absolutely adore old French apothecary bottles and Victorian chandeliers - I know I do! Some people think that a creative or unique accent either can't be found nowadays or that it would cost a lot of money. But this just isn't the case folks! Recently I was looking at a few things online and I found a handful of websites that had some really fantastic Victorian and French style accessories. These items include chandeliers, Tussie Mussies, Faux Patisserie, etc.

Just really cute but really quaint and elegant type of items. Some of these are handmade while others were found at Estate sales and fixed up. I like this because the pieces are of quality, but they are not of quantity. In other words, the chances of you visiting someone and them having that same exact piece is very rare. The prices are not as expensive as one would think. For instance, one would think that a French style chandelier would be super expensive. But after looking around I found a few for under $500. You simply have to look around at different websites and see who offers what! Think of shopping online like shopping at a thousand stores at once. You CAN find what it is you are looking for, it just might take a few minutes to get your bearings and do a couple searches to come up with an answer!
