Do You Know Where Beef Comes From?

By:

Beef may be what is for dinner but where that beef comes from is a very important question that people should stop and ask themselves. While going to the local market and picking up some ground round is a convenience of modern life for the majority of people very few look at the quality of the meat that they are buying or how that beef came to be on the grocery store shelf.

The truth is that many of the cattle that are harvested for human consumption are raised in dark slaughter houses where they are shot full of hormones and growth stimulants to help the cattle to mature and gain as much meat on their bones as is genetically possible.

Along side a slew of other cattle all lined up in small confined pens the livestock that are butchered for supermarket shelves are fed a mixture of different foods that are not among the most nutritious or healthy for the animals to eat.

Mass production is the name of the game for American cattle farmers that are meeting the high demand for beef in the United States. Because beef is a staple item in many American homes the number of cattle slaughtered each year to meet consumer needs makes the inhuman raising of beef cattle a mandatory practice for many of the cattle breeders throughout the country.

The hormonally injected cattle are subjected to horrifying conditions that are then passed on to the consumer through the sale of meat at the supermarket. While the FDA has approved the practice of mass production and slaughter of cattle for human consumption and monitors the treatment and additives that cattle are given there is a better, healthier choice for consumers to make when it comes to purchasing meat for the family dinner table.

Cattle that are free from fillers and steroids, raised naturally on ranches in the open country are much healthier than their imprisoned counterparts. Free range cattle are given the freedom to eat the grasses and grains that grow naturally in their surroundings and are built up from natural muscle growth without artificial stimulants to contaminate the meat.

The animals that are harvested humanly have been organically raised by caring ranchers that are concerned about bringing a higher quality meat to the dinner table and deliver on their commitment to flavorful well aged beef that is better tasting and healthier for consumption. Although the organically raised beef is not available at the local butcher counter of the neighborhood grocery store the benefits of seeking out suppliers of naturally raised beef are well worth the effort it takes to bring healthier more appetizing meat to the dinner table.
