Do You Know The Reasons To Switch To An E Cigarette

By:

E-cigarettes are gaining popularity in the United States as well as different areas of the world. The fact is that more people are switching to e-cigarettes for potential health benefits as well as financial gain. Joel Niztkin of the American Association of Public Health Physicians says "We have every reason to believe the hazard posed by electronic cigarettes would be much lower than 1% of that posed by (tobacco) cigarettes." The death toll in America linked to tobacco use, according to the Center for Disease Control between 2000-2004 was around 443,000 a year. Doing the math, if everyone switched to e-cigarettes, that number could be reduced to around 4,000 deaths a year.

It's also estimated that cigarettes killed about 100 million people worldwide in the 20th century. Currently, the worldwide death toll is somewhere around the 5 million a year mark. Maintaining that rate, which is expected to only grow, leaves the death toll around at least 500 million for the 21st century associated with tobacco smoking alone. Since the FDA isn't satisfied with the testing of e-cigarettes, we can't make any assumptions as to how healthy of an alternative they are to real cigarettes, but it seems logical that it can't be worse.

The cancer-causing chemicals in real cigarettes aren't found in e-cigarettes. The smoke is an odorless vapor which won't annoy people around the user. A person that is using e-cigarettes isn't inhaling a smoke, but a vaporized "e-liquid" which get the nicotine the user craves to their lungs, without the tar and other undesirables that traditional smokers take in when smoking.

Nonsmokers find the smell of cigarette smoke to be fairly unpleasant. Nonsmokers wouldn't be offended by a person that's using an e-cigarette, since it doesn't give off the odorous smoke that normal cigarettes do. On top of the absence of the smell, second hand smoke isn't a concern, since the e-cigarette user is only exhaling a vapor. For this reason, the act of smoking an e-cigarette is known as vaping.

The cost of smoking e-cigarettes as opposed to tobacco smoking is a big difference. A person can cut the cost of their nicotine habit at least in half by switching to e cigarettes. All that is needed is a battery, which actually looks like a cigarette, a cartridge, which looks like the filter of a normal cigarette, e-liquid which is evaporated and inhaled, delivering nicotine into the body. A charger is also needed for the battery, but a kit can be bought that includes 2 batteries, 10 cartridges, 1 wall charger, 1 usb charger, and 1 car charger for $49.95. If you purchase the e-liquid to refill the cartridges, you can save potentially $1,000 a year, depending on the severity of your smoking habit. There are several social factors, financial aspects, and health concerns associated with regular health smoking. It's time for something different.
