Do You Hate Having To Pay For Tv Service?

By:

There are millions of people across America - and across the whole world for that matter - who pay a monthly fee for their TV service. Whether it is cable or satellite, these homeowners, renters, employees, and business owners pay a monthly fee to have TV service broadcast on their TV. Now, there are people who don't mind paying for this monthly fee, but if you are absolutely sick and tired of having to pay for service, then you are not alone! In fact, there are millions of people who are not paying for their TV service, and thousands more are joining them for various reasons.

To put it rather bluntly, cable or satellite service can get pretty darn pricey. If you are a new customer and happen to sign up during a promotional period, you could probably get cable or satellite TV service, internet, and home phone service all bundled up for a fairly inexpensive price. Depending on where you look, those bundles can start anywhere from $100 and go up to as much as $180 or more for more specialty or premium channels. These promotional periods can run anywhere from three months to a year, and subscribers will be charged a flat rate during that period. When that period ends, however, do not be surprised at all to see your bill skyrocket! Each service can go up as much as $10 to $50 every month. At this point, you can either haggle with your provider for a discount while keeping your fingers crossed, or you can cancel your service altogether and go with another company.

Using a digital antenna, on the other hand, requires only an initial investment, and you are free and clear to receive local channels without having to pay that blasted monthly fee. If your television is not an older analog set and is equipped with a digital tuner or receiver, you will also have access to local HD channels, which means superb picture quality and clarity for you and other viewers in your home.

In addition, what a lot of people do not realize is that the vast majority of TV series are available on the internet to watch for free. Not a single dollar or penny goes towards these internet sites, except of course the fee you pay per month to get internet service in the first place. Network sites themselves, such as NBC, ABC, CBS, and FOX, allow viewers to watch full episodes for free on their websites because they realize that not everyone can tune into their favorite show every single week. Even specialty channels, such as MTV and the Discovery Channel - channels that you would have to pay for with cable or satellite service, mind you - broadcast full streaming episodes via your online browser.

Watching shows online is convenient and a no-cost alternative to DVR machines and TiVo, and if you cannot find a particular show on those network sites, then check out Hulu, which has a huge database of full episodes from all networks. Giving up cable or satellite service doesn't mean you have to sacrifice quality programming. You just have to know where to look so you can save hundreds in TV service fees annually.
