Do I Have Rosasea? Just What Is Rosacea Anyway?

Very likely one of the most difficult issues with Rosacea is determining if the patient in fact has the illness. Redness of the face, the most obvious sign with Rosacea, can be brought on by many severe ailments and diseases. Scarlet Fever, German Measles, Cushing's Syndrome and Systemic Lupus Erythematosus can all cause a red face. They are all very critical ailments that are life threatening. It would be terrible if a diagnosis of Rosacea was mistakenly made, but it was really a far more serious disease. Even things as simple as exposure to the sun, eating too much hot and spicy food, and drinking too much alcohol could potentially cause the facial skin to turn red. Inflammation brought on by these common actions is short-term and will diminish as time passes.

A distinct aspect of Rosacea is that it begins near the nose, and then moves on to other regions of the face, like the forehead and chin. It can also proceed to the ears, many times the scalp, neck, and even the chest. Some other signs and symptoms include watering eyes, itchy dry eyes, and thickened skin around your face. As you can tell, there is no one indicator you can point at and say with certainty, "Yes, I have Rosacea."

When you first see the initial signs of Rosacea, persistent flushing and/or redness of your face, which you are unable to associate with an obvious cause, you should see a health care provider. It is a good idea not to delay too long, for as with most conditions, when it is possible to detect Rosacea early on, it is much less difficult to treat and stop it from getting to the later, more uncomfortable stages.

Most symptoms in the early stages of Rosacea will become worse when exposed to the sun's rays or heat, or after eating fatty or spicy meals. If your inflammation persists, even without these stressing factors, it is more than likely some type of Rosacea, and you should seek out medical assistance immediately. Untreated Rosacea can affect your eyes, and in some instances trigger blindness. In the long term, serious health consequences can occur if Rosacea remains untreated.

A serious emotional factor of Rosacea is that it is on your face for the entire world to see. Most people have no idea about Rosacea and may even look at you with pity and wonder. You may want to hide away rather than appear in public.

Modern medical science has not been able to come up with one distinct root cause for Rosacea. There seems to be a number of causes, with variants for all of them. Physicians have several methods of treating Rosacea, including laser and electrosurgery to remove growths, antibiotics, lotions, and ointments. A few doctors realize that diet regime is a factor in Rosacea. Every one of these treatments, maybe with the exception of diet, attack the symptoms and none is truly a remedy or cure. Many are unpleasant and uncomfortable, and whatever gains you might derive from them are usually transient given that the ailment is still present and advancing. In the long run, your medical professional will probably explain to you that you will have to learn to live with Rosacea.

There are various all-natural beneficial solutions for Rosacea that appear to be very effective. This is something you might want to look into on your own, as most doctors have no a clue about them.
