Trying to get back into the dating game after divorce can make you feel like you are trying to tread water while wearing an anchor. Between the fear of rejection, rusty skills, weakened confidence and a vulnerable heart, you may feel like just giving up.

You do not want to make the same old mistakes as before and end up having a broken heart or getting dumped again. It is just not worth it. You feel as though you deserve better. You know there is a kind and loving woman who loves you for "you."

Well guess what. She is out there and she is looking for you right now. You just have to know what to do and be smart with your dating habits. What would happen if you dated as if you had never been divorced or broken hearted? Believe it or not, it can make all the difference.

Here are a few post-divorce tips to help whip your skills into shape.

1. Do a Post-Game Review

How do really great teams stay on top? They do it by studying, reviewing and assessing their behavior. What worked? What did not? What needs to be changed?

Here is a fact. The greatest predictor of future behavior is past behavior. You know history repeats itself. So what? This means if you do not learn your lessons, you are sure to make the same mistakes again. Does that sound like fun? Believe me, it will not be.

That is why you better take some time to reflect on a few things:

- What went wrong in your relationship?
- How did you contribute to the problems?
- If you went back, what could you do differently?
- What will you do differently next time?

If you want to find a great woman and make it work next time, you need to have a clear understanding of what your patterns are and how you are going to shift them.

2. Get Your Game On

Did you know that divorced women have a big complaint about divorced guys? Oh yeah, they say you are too much of a wimp that you are afraid to take action and that fear of rejection immobilizes you. It is true! That is why you need to heed number 1 and wait until you are ready to get back in the game.

Once you are ready, you need to date like you have never been divorced. You know what happens when you play defensively, when you try to protect yourself or when you hold back.
