Displaying Your Collection With A Shot Glass Display Case

By:

A shot glass display case is a great way to keep your collection in one place, as well as show off to your friends and family. The practice has grown over the last fifty years or so, and its popularity has increased with the variety of designs and souvenirs that are now available. With all of these colorful designs now available, it's best to get a shot glass display case so everyone can admire your different sets.

These small cabinets are available in many sizes. The smallest of these are usually made to hold twelve pieces, with the largest ones able to handle upwards of one hundred. The most common would be the cases that can hold fifty or fifty four glasses. Because of the small standard size of these glasses, it is quite easy to put your entire collection in one cabinet.

Those who have over a hundred different shot glasses can either spring for the larger cabinets, or get several smaller ones. In most cases, it is much better to split the collection so that mounting and transferring the sets doesn't become too much of a problem. It also makes it easier to make different collections according to the theme of your glasses. For example, one cabinet may feature all of your souvenirs from some faraway place that you've visited. Another can hold same colored collectibles.

You should think about whether or not you would like all of your cases to be in one room. If this is the case, choose the same type of size and material so that they can go with the overall theme of their location. Different colored cabinets can be distracting and can even spoil the ambiance of a room or hall. They shouldn't be too bright however as they might steal the attention over the glasses themselves.

When position these fixtures, do not place them in direct sunlight. While you will want ample light to accentuate these cases, direct sunlight may damage the colors on your collection. It is best to place them in a shaded area and install customized spotlights.

If you don't like the idea of having to install separate lights for your collection, you can purchase cabinets that have their own built in lighting. These are a bit more expensive, but they do their job well by only lighting up the cases. You will have to connect the wiring so that it isn't too distracting, but it shouldn't be too hard to do that.

Before finalizing your choice, keep in mind that your collection might still grow; you may want to leave a few spaces in your case for these future arrivals. This is why leaving a few spaces in between each glass can also make the case looking attractive. Alternatively, you can purchase another case and mount it when you need additional space.

With so many designs available, it is best to narrow down your search with the basics in mind. Also, try to determine whether or not the cabinet would look good with your collection. Above all else, the shot glass display case you choose must accommodate all of your glasses.
