Disgusting Things About Employment

By:

Employment has certainly come of age these days, but many hate to admit the things they do hate about being employed and at some point, they would rather quit their jobs (if only they had any other source of income). Here are the most disgusted things about employment.
Being supervised: Majority of all employed people are directly supervised by other people who they report to; to many people such supervision presents a blow to the ego, and most especially if the chain of command alternates with people of different sexes. Some organizations as a result of the recession laid off many of the high paying positions typically occupied by your more tenured and senior employees. These positions were replaced with younger (not as expensive) professionals. As the market continues to bounce back we find more 30+ year old professionals now reporting to a 22-25 year old supervisor.

No personal time: With employment most of the time is taken up doing the duties of the employer, who have direct control over the time of the employee; how they use it and what they do with it. In most cases the time is usually the most productive hours for the employee. This will mean that personal development for the employee will be very minimal and that the employee will always be in need of that employment as his source of income for a long time to come. This may even spill further into family matters, in cases where the employee does not have enough time for the children and his or her spouse. This eventually leads to the breakdown of family values and family ties.

Inconsistent future: The future of the employed person is quite inconsistent, even with income, the employed person does not know for sure when he will be required by his employer to pack up his bags and leave. Many employees live paycheck to paycheck with little to no savings. When employment is lost, a domino effect often ensues. It is evident in the latest recession, with foreclosures at all time high as people lose their jobs they lose their ability to pay their bills and their overall quality of life is destroyed. These issues play a significant role in the breakdown of the family unit.

The final most disgusting thing about employment is the fact that one has to wake up to an alarm clock every morning, prepare for work and strive to beat the traffic each morning and every evening just to wake up and do it all over again. The system is tiring to the mind, body and spirit of an employee.
